Set yourself  for a great day with the miracle morning routine

We all know that a good morning sets the tone for the rest of the day. As a leader you want to achieve maximum productivity and stay on top of the game. So, how do you maintain your energy and focus to make this happen? The first, quite obvious answer, is: through consistency and high performance habits, especially in the morning. Yes, there is a miracle morning routine.

Freedom and happiness
What are morning routines of successful people?

Make your bed

One very powerful thing to start your morning well is making your bed. Is sounds like something unimportant, but making your bed actually has a huge impact on the rest of your day. This is because by completing a small, easy task you get a dopamine shot in your brain and condition yourself to complete tasks later during the day.

What are other good morning habits?

You may have already heard of the bestselling book by Hal Elrod ‘The Miracle Morning’ (link below). If you haven’t read it yet, I highly recommend you do. This book helped me to get more consistent with my morning routine and I know quite a few people who have created their morning schedules according to it.

How long does it take to change a habit?

The usual time to change a habit is around 30 days, although depending on personal circumstances and what you are trying to change is can be between 28 and 100 days.

What to expect from the process of changing your morning habits (or any other habits)
Change yourself to change the world
The process of forming a new routine has three phases:
  1. First 10 days
The first 10 days can be unbearable. Most people give up during this stage, so be aware of that to avoid giving up too early because it will get better very soon.
  2. Second 10 days
The second phase is not so difficult anymore. The new habit is just uncomfortable at this stage, so keep going.
  3. Third 10 days
Now you begin to notice the benefits of the new habit and it becomes much easier. You are beginning to enjoy the new routine (or its benefits) and you become unstoppable.
Tip on changing habits: one habit at a time.
